"A series of avalanches occurred at Mountain High Friday, after the resort was pounded by heavy snowfalls. Seven people were rescued, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that three people have died.
The latest victim is believed to also be a skier. The victim received medical attention after being found, but was pronounced dead shortly after.
A glimmer of hope came Saturday morning, however, when a missing snowboarder made contact with rescue teams. The survivor has been treated and released.
Sheriff's officials said that with the discovery of the third victim and the last survivor, the search and rescue efforts have ended.
In the first incident, three skiers were trapped. One of the trapped skiers died of injuries at a local hospital. He is reported to be a 23 year old Mountain High Employee.
Three other victims were trapped in a second avalanche. The three have been rescued, but one, also a veteran Mountain High Ski Patroller died after being found early Saturday morning and transported to a local medical center. He was 33-years old"
